The town has a slightly Victorian feel about it, and a distinctly Welsh character - you are as likely to hear Welsh spoken as English on market days! Pen-y-Dyffryn is only a hundred yards from the Welsh border and must be one of the few hotels in Shropshire to have such a Welsh sounding address. Before becoming a hotel it was the rectory for the local vicar, who used to walk over the border into Wales to deliver his sermons! There are five superb eighteen hole golf courses within a 20 minute drive of the hotel and reduced green fees for our guests.
