Terms & Conditions
Guests booking under the "Short Breaks" option overleaf are reserving dinner, bed and breakfast for each night of their stay. Guests not wishing to take dinner on one or more nights will revert to the bed & breakfast rate throughout. Dinner is always available to "Bed and Breakfast only" reservations for an additional charge of £35.00 for a three-course meal. Last orders for dinner are 8.30pm.
“2 night Weekend” Short Breaks are stays including either a Friday or a Saturday night.
“Bed and Breakfast only” bookings are not available for 2 night weekend bookings other than by special arrangement.
Guests booked in for Dinner who anticipate a late arrival at the hotel may request a cold platter on arrival.
One night stays on a Saturday night only are only available by special arrangement.
Children.
Rates for children sharing a room with both parents:-
Children in camp bed - £20.00/night B&B
Children in a bed - £30.00/night B&B
Dinner charged as taken. (Young child's meals are available from £10.00).
We do not take children 3 years or under except by special arrangement.
Pets.
A well-behaved dog is welcome and is free of charge. This is conditional on your being satisfied that under no circumstances will your dog go on the beds or furniture. More than one pet by arrangement please.
No pets in the public lounges after 6.00pm.
Smoking.
Smoking is not permitted in the hotel. The Coach House bedrooms and ground floor bedroom have patios where you may smoke, and of course, you are welcome to smoke on the hotel terrace.
Disabilities.
The essential character of the hotel (a 150 year old building on a sloping hillside) produces intrinsic access difficulties. Nevertheless, we welcome enquiries from disabled guests and are only too happy to discuss their requirements beforehand. We have a ground-floor bedroom which may suit some less able guests, and staff are always on hand to assist.
Bedroom categories.
(Please state your preference when booking)
All rooms have TV, direct dial telephone, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer, bath and shower.
The Superior Bedroom has a double jacuzzi bath, a king size double sleigh bed and is the largest bedroom in the hotel.
The Master Bedrooms are larger than the Standard bedrooms and have king-sized double beds or twin beds as required. Four of the Master Bedrooms have private patios and are situated in the adjoining Coach-House. (The Coach-House bedrooms are accessed by a short flight of stone stairs and are not suitable for guests with walking difficulties). The Master Bedrooms in the main hotel all have spa baths.
The Standard Bedrooms have similar facilities to the Master Bedrooms but are not quite as large, have standard double beds (or twins) and the baths are not spa baths. There is one Standard bedroom on the ground floor (Twin or Double), with a walk-in power shower, which may suit some less able guests. (See “Disabilities” above).
The Smaller Bedroom is smaller than the Standard Rooms and overlooks the cottage and woodland to the rear of the hotel rather than the gardens.
Golf Breaks.
Hotel guests are entitled to “2-for-1” green fees at Oswestry (Mile-End) golf course.
Cancellation terms.
Reserving a hotel bedroom, either verbally or in writing, constitutes a contract in law. Should you be obliged to cancel your reservation please give as much notice as possible so that we can try to re-let the room and so defray our losses. Bookings are normally confirmed by a deposit of £25.00 per room per night, which will be fully refunded (less a £10.00 administrative fee) if more than four weeks notice is given. Cancellations less than four weeks prior to arrival will incur a charge of 75% of the full value of the booking unless the room can be re-let, in which case only the deposit will be forfeited. Credit/Debit cards may be used to guarantee the booking and for payment of cancellation charges. Cancellation insurance is advised and insurance forms are available on request.
