Walking Breaks in ShropshireIf you are looking for a hotel with good walking nearby you're in luck. Pen-y-Dyffryn is situated in some of the finest hill walking country in the UK. Surrounded on all sides by hills and mountains, and Offa's Dyke less than a mile away, many of our guests leave their car keys untouched for the duration of their stay. The hotel itself is set at about 800 feet above sea level, and the Welsh hills nearby rise to nearly 2000 feet.

We provide free handout walking guides, and pets are welcome free of charge.

Walking Special. Two nights Dinner, Bed and Breakfast from £86.00 per person per night (£344.00 per couple for two nights). All guests quoting “Walking Breaks” on making a reservation for two nights or longer will receive a complimentary half bottle of Champagne with dinner on their first night.

All Breaks include complimentary Welsh High Tea on arrival, a four-course meal each night, and a superb spread of fruits, compotes and sizzling hot dishes for breakfast in the morning.

To maximise our guests' enjoyment of the countryside we have produced a folder of walks, all starting from the hotel front door. Walks range from 30 minutes to all day treks, many with a pub-stop half way. Copies of the walks are freely available to our guests, and packed lunches can also be provided.

The 100-acre woods adjoining the hotel are entirely public open space and are very safe for dog walking. The view from the Cliff Top Walk just above the hotel is shown at the top of this page. Offa's Dyke long distance footpath passes only a mile from the hotel, and several of our walks include stretches of this ancient earthwork.
