Explore the Llangollen Eisteddfod Landmark Near Pen-y-Dyffryn
Pen-y-Dyffryn Hotel provides convenient accommodation to visitors to the Llangollen International Eisteddfod. The Eisteddfod is located a 20 minute drive from the Hotel.
Parking can be difficult in the town, but we can arrange taxis for you to and back from the festival. You may have an early breakfast if you need to be in Llangollen first thing, or a late dinner if you think you will be back late.
The Eisteddfod is a celebration of music, dance, costume and culture from nations around the world. The highlight of the festival will be the Choir of the World competition. In 2020 they have introduced the Show Choirs category, in which the finalist will join the finalists from the Mixed, Youth, Female, Male and Open Choirs categories and compete for the prestigious ‘Pavarotti Trophy’ as well as, £3000.
They will be introducing a Contemporary Dance category in which the finalist will compete for the Dance Champions title, Lucille Armstrong Trophy as well as £500. They will join and compete against the finalists from the Traditional and Choreographed/Stylised Folk Dance Groups.
Solo – Contemporary Dance (Solo) – They are also introducing this brand new genre in both solo and group categories for the 2020 eisteddfod.
Musical Composition – They are giving participants two opportunities to create new works for youth, mixed, female or male choirs, or for a piano quintet (piano and string quartet).
